Ditte is an entrepreneur, influencer, and mother of 3 daughters. She started her blog when her middle daughter Della was born, to write and show that families can look different. That not everything is always perfect. That life can be lived to the fullest even if difficult things happen along the way. Through her open and honest posts about life with a child who has cerebral palsy, she inspires and invites us to her and her family's lives.
Did you always know you wanted to be a mother?
I would say that is the only thing I ever knew I absolutely wanted to be.
You also became a bonus mom at a very young age. What did that teach you about motherhood?
I've never seen J as my bonus daughter. That I got her and she got me is one of the finest gifts in life. She is my first child, my first daughter. She taught me what true love is.

To me, strength is to dare to go your own way, to help others if you can, and to take care of yourself, of what’s really important. To dare to ask for help, to be able to ask for forgiveness.

What advice would you give the younger version of yourself?
Everyday life is the finest we have. And thanks to Della (my middle daughter came to us very early and very ill), I have really learned to appreciate all the little moments together. Eating a dinner together with the whole family is not something I take for granted, because all of a sudden life can be turned upside down and we have to spend countless weeks in the hospital. It has taught me to be grateful and to appreciate the “little” things.
What has Della taught you about being a mother?
It’s a huge role. We would have been nowhere if we had not received all the support we got, especially from my mother and father, friends and family. Not to forget my Instagram family, which gives an incredible amount of energy and power when we need it the most.
You’re a busy mom, so how do you practice gratefulness in your everyday life?
We find joy in each other, the big and the small. Above all, being together, lighting candles and just cuddling at home. We all love music, and "ugly" dancing to a song in the living room is something we do often.
