#CelebrateEveryBody

With Understatement we want to create an arena for more female voices – highlighting control, ownership and proudness of our own bodies and minds.

#CelebrateEveryBody is our passion project to celebrate everybody and every body – a campaign centered around diversity and women power. And when it comes to strong women, we’re now lucky to know more than a few. We started this project in April 2019 where we met, photographed and portrayed 21 powerful women from varying walks of life. We are now continuing the campaign to find more women that inspire us to stand taller, think bigger and strive for better. All 21 women are launched here alongside their stories and we hope you loved the stories as much as we loved capturing it.

We stand with all Women and during May- June 15% of our profit goes directly to Kvinna till Kvinna – a Swedish organisation supporting women’s rights.

And now it’s your turn. Sign up below to receive an exclusive gift and find out what we will do next together.

Sales Associate & Cancer Survivor

For a long time, career dreams and goals were important to me. But when my life took an unexpected direction I understood that these have no meaning, nor any significance as long as myself or those in my surroundings are not healthy.  Before I got sick, I was the typical blond swedish girl with designer clothes.Today I have a short hair and a big scar on my stomach. And I have never felt more unique and happy than I am now. Please remember that our bodies are beautiful creations. We all have scars and stretchmarks, Love them”

Entrepreneur, CEO at Nynäs Rehab Center

You can trust me. I am always there for my nearest. I never left my daughter ( Fredrika) during her medical treatment against cancer and that is so important to me. It was a though time – we are not unique in any way but it’s important we do what we can to show other girls and women what is important in life. The important things in life is to have a working body and one thing that I learned from this period is that you need to have a strong mind.

Maria Verbitskaya

Project Manager in IT

“I have lived in Sweden for 5 years and I enjoy the life I have built up here. I searched for jobs as a translator when I first came here, but didn´t find what I wanted. Then I educated myself within IT, learned about your culture and the language. You can always start over, you can move and come back later. I like to try new things, like with this photoshoot – I wanted to show for myself that I am brave enough to show people that I am beautiful.

Emeli Eriksson

Designer & Founder at “A Conscious Space”

“When I was 40, I moved to Berlin. It changed me to be better in so many ways. First of all, there was no focus on age – you could talk or hang out with all sort of creative people in different ages. The reason why I first moved there was to start my journey to find my inner self-love, I meditated and listened to inner-self. I found the answers I always searched within. I do what I believe is right now. Back to the age, I think I will always be 30.”

Social Worker at Stockholm County

“I believe that every child deserves a good start in life, supporting parents and lots of love. But unfortunately, life doesn’t look like that for every child. Some children get hurt. I work to help those children every day in my work. It means a lot for me to see that my work make the society better. Besides that, I recently started to be more open to learn more about myself and to support other women. Girl power is everything! Be brave and don’t let anyone knock you down.”

Many people have questioned if I should engage myself so much into work etc. but I stoppe I don’t care about them. My motto is to make my own thing and the most important part is to be happy and healthy. I’m that today and I enjoy helping younger people to find that inner peace at the organization UDDA.”

“Women should generally be more happy about themselves and not change their values or beliefs because of the society. Don’t take shit from anyone. If you don’t want kids – then don’t, if want to work more than others or if want to dress in a different way – then do. Not everyone is gonna be your best friend, but that’s fine. Because you are yourself from inside and outside.”

“I moved to Sweden by myself when I was 22, so I would say that I started early to make my own choices. So better than others. What I have learned most of so far is from the time I have invested in my relationships. To communicate, live and love other people is a constantly battle sometime. I am on a good way. The next dream I will fulfill in January, is to move to South Africa. I try and fail all the time. The difference between some other people? I move on.”

“I have exercised my whole life and I think it’s important to have a strong body. Also, to show younger girls that it is important to care about the body in a healthy way. I have 2 daughters and they mean everything to me. I would say that both of them are inspirations to me. You know, children look at the world in totally different ways than us older. They think they can do everything, they are curious and fearless. I think we should learn from our children too.”
